A Web Analytics Primer – Intro Part 2
TweetIn A Web Analytics Primer – Introduction I introduced the topic of web analytics and invited questions. Guenevere posed three questions in her comment post, which I think could be summed up to “Why is this important?” A very good question.
If your web site is more of a hobby, you might not care about what analytics can tell you. But, if your web site has any business component whatsoever analytics need to be a main part of your plan for success. The information found in analytics reports can answer some important questions about your web site you’d have a hard time learning any other way:
- Who is visiting my web site?
- How are my visitors finding my site?
- What kind of hardware and software are my visitors using to view my web site?
- What parts of my web site are popular and which are not?
- What can I do to make my web site better?
After reading this series, you’ll be able to answer these and other questions so you can better evaluate your site and see where you’re doing well and where you need some improvement.
Please feel free to comment in and ask questions.
